Yesterday, I had the pleasure of going to a continuing education class near the Biltmore Square Mall (sarcasm).  The ONLY good thing about that experience was that (with the help of AVLFoodTrucks.com) I realized that I was within walking distance of a food truck!  So for lunch, I hoofed it over to Doc Brown's BBQ - a mere 2 blocks from Brevard Road at 1200 Ridgefield Blvd, behind the Biltmore Square Mall.  I got there a little after 1pm, just after the big lunch crowd from the nearby office buildings.

Owner David Brown served me a killer pulled pork bbq sandwich with some macaroni and cheese pie.  The sign of good bbq is how it tastes without sauce.  If you have to add bbq sauce to make it taste good, it ain't good bbq!  This pulled pork passes the test!  Since I love a good sauce, I tried out KC Red - slightly spicy and slightly sweet goodness.  Next time, I want to try the Alabama White.  I also chose some macaroni cheese pie as a side.  My girlfriend would love this macaroni and cheese; she would describe it as being "burny on top" - mac & cheese that is browned on top instead of being soupy.  David also let me try some chicken salad which was great, with just a hint of smokiness.

I can't wait to go back!  Check out the map to see where Doc Brown's BBQ will be next!
